Re: So if Marseille

We are actually in a very strong position.
Marseille are evidently his preferred option, and if reports are to be believed he has already agreed personal terms. He's on a 5 year deal, and his value next August won't be particularly different to his value this month. The message to Marseille is simple - pay £40m and he's yours, don't and he's not. They can clearly afford it as they've got new owners, and come the summer there may be some more competition driving the price up again.
Let's take this for what it is. Weve got an asset that is of no use to us so let's squeeze every last penny out of those French cunts.

Why would Marseille re-sign him if he left them under a similar cloud to the one we are experiencing (Times) ?
Sadly if we are offered £40m (which is not unreasonable in the current silly money market) then we should take it but preferably on a player exchange basis. Of course if some Chinese club came along .....!!?

Apparently we aren't selling and what they've offered is derisery,so stop worrying,if they offer silly money all that will be factored in,Sullivan and Gold are good business men.

What you should have done here is write the full question as the thread title, not divide it in two like some kind of cliffhanging click bait. Like this: "So if Marseille have a sell on clause would we have to pay them to take Payet back?"
